Deanna Bio Picture

Deanna Kiester has over 10 years experience in personal development and counseling and many years of experience working with horses. She is a Licensed Associate Counselor and certified, holds a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling and is a certified Equine Specialist through EAGALA.

Since she was 3 years old, Deanna has been fascinated with the beauty and power of a horse. Her dad would put her behind him on his quarter horse, tell her to hang on and off they would go chasing cattle. She has been very fortunate to have had horses in her life; still amazed at what they continue to teach her. They have the unique ability to teach leadership and problem solving skills; creativity, connection, and compassion aptitudes and most importantly instill confidence unlike any other method.

Deanna has dreamt of using horses to help others learn the same things. She discovered the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) which was founded in 1999 to have the same desire bringing their dream to a proven reality. Equine assisted programs are gaining credibility throughout the world as an effective model to help teams learn to work together as well as helping those suffering from PTSD, trauma, abuse, addictions and many other infirmities.

It is Deanna’s passion to use these beautiful animals to assist people in reaching their goals whether they are achievers in the corporate world or in their own personal development.

Cathy has been working with horses for the last 10 years as Director of a nonprofit horseback riding ministry. She brings a tremendous amount of horse experience to The Equine Connection having worked with many people and horses of all ages. She loves to introduce to the community the power of horses whereby mutual respect grows between horse and participant creating a positive diversion in the direction of the participants future; a trail full of new responsibility, submission and self-control with a commitment to an amazingly strong but sensitive animal that was created for us to love and respect. Her dedication to the safety and well-being of both participant and horse has brought many years of wonderful memorable experiences for all.
